CAUTIONARY NOTE: release the canopy from the main casting block then gradually trim to fit, part of the clear resin canopy forms part of the spine.
FGR.2 XT899:B 19 squadron, RAF Wildenrath, 1991.
FGR.2 XV408:Z, 92 squadron, RAF Wildenrath, 1991.
Both of the above Phantom’s were painted overall blue livery BS381c/110 Roundel Blue to commemorate the disbandment of the two squadron’s. Both took part in the Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, 1991. Both aircraft flew together for their last battle flight mission over Germany on October 2nd, 1992.
The paint scheme finish was egg-shell (semi-gloss)
XT899 is currently displayed at Kbely Aviation Museum in the Czech Republic.
XV408 is currently displayed at Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, West Sussex.
XV582:M Black Mike, 111 squadron. RAF Leuchars, 1990. The aircraft was given an overall glossy black finish for the 1989 display season, in honour of the squadrons days, flying black hunters named ‘black arrows’ (late 50s/60s).
XV582 is now displayed in the South Wales Aviation Museum, St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan.
The decal enables the modeller to complete one model. Includes maintenance/data markings.
To compliment the above, Phantom rear end silver decal can be purchased as an aftermarket item 144123.
Note: All of the above had very little maintenance/data stencilling on them.
Note that the blue livery information sheet states XT899 as FGR.1, whereas it is in fact FGR.2. Apologies for any confusion.
