60th anniversary Alcock and Brown special scheme
Two Phantoms FGR.2 were prepared from 56 squadron to commemorate the first non-stop transatlantic flight in a specially moficief Vickers Vimy 1919. XV424 achieved a record breaking run over the Atlantic aided by five in-flight refuellings from Victor K2 tankers. Arriving at RAF Greenham Common on June 21st 1979, XV486 was the standby aircraft in the case of any last minute problems with 424.
The decal enables the modeller to complete one model of either XV424 or XV486. Includes maintenance/data markings.
